Neurophysiology

Our neurophysiology specialists use state-of-the-art equipment to test the electrical functions of the brain, spinal cord and the nerves in the arms, legs, and the muscles. These tests help diagnose a wide range of conditions, such as seizures, herniated discs, nerve injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, peripheral neuropathy and muscle disorders.

Our neurophysiology team performs:

  • EEG (electroencephalogram): a recording of the electrical activity of the brain

  • Sleep EEG

  • Nerve conduction studies (NCS): a recording of the passage of electrical signals along nerves in the limbs

  • EMG (electromyography): a recording of the electrical activity of muscles
