For immediate release: April 15, 2016
Baltimore magazine is honoring UMMC Midtown Campus nurse Mariama Diallo, BSN, RN, CCRN, in its annual “Excellence in Nursing” issue in May. Diallo was recognized in the Intensive Care nursing category.
She has worked at UMMC Midtown Campus since 2000 and was hired as a medical/surgical nurse before becoming a tele/PCU nurse. In 2003, she transferred to the ICU where she’s worked for the past 13 years.
“My approach to delivering excellent patient care encompasses three things: holistic care, patient-centered care that incorporates family, and interdisciplinary teamwork,” says Diallo.
Diallo received her BSN from the College of Notre Dame. She is currently enrolled in the Health Services Leadership and Management (HSLM) program through University of Maryland Medical System.
The magazine’s 55 honorees this year include a total of 13 nurses from six hospitals in the University of Maryland Medical System. Click here to read about the other UMMS nurses honored.
In preparation for “Excellence in Nursing” issue, the editors of Baltimore asked readers to submit nominations, then gathered an expert panel of nurse leaders from the region to help select the most outstanding nurses in 17 categories.
